This policy explains what information Search LLC Name (searchllcname.com) collects when you use the site, where your name searches go, and which services receive data. The site has no user accounts, and we don’t sell personal information.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, such as which pages they visit and how they found it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information about your browser, device, approximate location and the pages you view. It doesn’t receive the business names you search for.
Google’s use of this data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Where your name searches go
What happens to a name you search depends on the state:
- Most states: the search opens the state’s official business search in a new tab. We don’t send your name to the state. You type it there, and the state’s own privacy policy applies.
- Idaho: the state’s official search appears on the page, and your name is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it in. It’s only sent to the state if you search there.
- Colorado, Connecticut, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Texas: your browser sends the name directly to the state’s open data portal, which returns matching business records.
- Alabama, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico and North Dakota: your name goes to our server, which searches the state’s business records for you. So that repeat searches don’t hit the state’s systems, we keep the results for each name for up to six hours. Those saved results aren’t linked to you.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the addresses you request, which includes names sent to our server for the searches described above. Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies as described above. Apart from that and our host’s security features, the site doesn’t set cookies.
Other websites
The site links to state government websites and other official sources. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
The site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
